Aerial Drone Team

The Aerial Drone Team competes in competitions sponsored through the REC Foundation.  We compete against schools from throughout Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana.  These events consist of:

 

• Autonomous Flight  – Cadets compete in a timed event using Blockly or Python programming to program their drone to fly through a series of obstacles. Drones are equipped with sensors to increase programming success. 

• Piloting Skills Challenge – Cadets demonstrate their piloting skills by flying a drone around obstacles in a timed competition event.  

• Two Drone Teamwork Challenge – Cadets fly their drone as part of a team working together to complete a series of challenges.  These events highlight precision flying skills, communication, and decision making.
