Trojan Library
General Information
- The Northeast High School Library is available for students to use from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on most school days.
- The library is equipped with a lab of 17 computers and provides students the option to print in color and black and white for a small fee. Black and white copies are $.10 and color copies are $.25.
- Students planning to print in the library from a USB flash drive should save documents in rich text format (RTF) to lessen the possibility of not being able to open documents due to differences in versions and/or types of software.
- Wi-Fi is available in the library for students who wish to bring their own laptops or tablets to do school related work and activities.
- Students may check out up to 2 books at a time for 2 weeks. Late books are charged a late fee of $.05 per day (not counting weekends of holiday) with a maximum of $5.00 in late fees per book. If a book is lost, the student will be required to pay for the cost of replacing the book.
- The NHS Library has approximately 8,000 titles in its collection available for checkout.

MAGNOLIA provides Mississippi residents with access to electronic databases through their local public, school, community college, or university libraries.
Includes No Fear Shakespeare, literature study guides, as well as history, math, biology, etc.
Includes writing resources and instructinal materials for both students and teachers. Excellent source to be used in conjunction with English writing assignments, especially research using MLA, APA, Chicago style, and AMA formats.

JSTOR is a non-profit site containing digitized back issues of academic journals, as well as books and primary sources, and current issues of journals. It provides full-text searches of almost 2,000 journals.

Meridian-Lauderdale County Public Library
The Meridian Public Library is an awesome local resource offering ebooks, emagazines, copy services, and public access computers. Their card catalog is accessible online and can be easily searched for materials students may be looking for that are not available at the school library.

Good Reads is the world’s largest site for readers and book recommendations. Its mission is to help people find and share books they love. This site can be used to track books you are reading and would like to read, to discover new books, to read other readers' recommendations and reviews, and so much more.
Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA)
YALSA is a division of the American Library Association and its stated mission is " to support library staff in alleviating the challenges teens face, and in putting all teens - especially those with the greatest needs - on the path to succesful and fulfilling lives." This site includes a teen bookfinder database, recent awardwinners in YA literature, and much more.
