Introduction to NJROTC

Northeast Lauderdale NJROTC – It's Probably Not What You Think!

When people hear "NJROTC," they often assume it’s a recruiting program for the military. However, here at Northeast Lauderdale, our NJROTC is something different. It’s about leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. It’s where friendships are built, challenges are tackled, and every cadet finds a sense of belonging.

Our cadets don’t just learn about naval history and maritime skills; they develop leadership, responsibility, and confidence. Through hands-on experiences like color guard performances, physical fitness challenges, and community service projects, we forge a bond that goes beyond the classroom. One of our most cherished events is the Trojan Games, an annual Special Olympics-style event where our cadets team up with special needs students to create an unforgettable day of joy and achievement.

Beyond service, we thrive on competition and teamwork. Whether it’s perfecting our drill and color guard routines, pushing through physical fitness training to qualify for Basic Leadership Training or Leadership Academy during the summer, or tackling problem-solving activities, every experience strengthens our unit. Our program is about more than individual success, it’s about lifting each other up and working together.

NJROTC at Northeast Lauderdale is a family. It’s where you’ll push yourself, grow as a leader, and discover skills that will serve you for life. No, it’s not what you think; it’s even better.
